The case clinic: argue, decide, commit
How this board worksOne shared board tonight. Camps are assigned, not chosen. Use sticky notes with your initials: 1argue your assigned camp2write your own move3commit for 30 days
Case 1: the migration two teams refuse to adopt
Activity 1 (prepare your camp), 10 minutes in your camp room. The case was read live; build only from the case text. Laws in tension: Influence, Buy-In, Timing. One sticky per argument in your camp's zone: your opening plus your best evidence. Challenge: what is the other camp's strongest attack on you?
Escalation camp (camp A)
take it up the chain. Post your opening and your best evidence from the case text, one sticky each.
ARGUMENT STICKIES GO HERE
Coalition camp (camp B)
win the leads without escalating. Post your opening and your best evidence from the case text, one sticky each.
ARGUMENT STICKIES GO HERE
Your move in 3 lines
Activity 2, 5 minutes, silent, solo. Forget your camp. One sticky: the move you would actually make, in 3 lines, plus the laws and frameworks that decided it. Would your 3 lines survive the cross-examination you just watched?
ONE STICKY PER PERSON
Case 2: the lead who will not delegate
Activity 3 (prepare the opposite camp), 10 minutes, camps reversed: the escalation camp from case 1 now argues the deadline side, the coalition camp now argues the confrontation side. Laws in tension: Empowerment, Priorities, Sacrifice. Same rules: opening plus best evidence from the case text. Challenge: what did your case 1 camp teach you to attack in this one?
Deadline camp (camp A)
protect the deadline, fix delegation after. Post your opening and your best evidence, one sticky each.
ARGUMENT STICKIES GO HERE
Confrontation camp (camp B)
confront the EM and force the handover now. Post your opening and your best evidence, one sticky each.
ARGUMENT STICKIES GO HERE
Your move in 3 lines, again
Activity 4, 5 minutes, silent, solo. Your actual move for case 2, plus the laws and frameworks that decided it. Could you defend it face to face with the EM in the case?
ONE STICKY PER PERSON
Parking lot
Tangents from the debates go here, one sticky each. They get answered in the WhatsApp group this week.
TANGENT STICKIES GO HERE
Commitment wall
Capstone commitments, one sticky per person, copied exactly from the plan you submitted on Wednesday. The 30-day clock starts on the date you write here. This wall stays visible for the whole 30 days.
For 30 days I will...
one behavior, its frequency, and your start date. Example format: "daily written priorities, every morning, starting Monday 21".
ONE STICKY PER PERSON
The succession staircase
The course, retro-summarized (Maxwell, the law of legacy). Read it left to right.
Achievementyou do great things yourselfSuccessyou empower people to do great things with youSignificanceyou develop leaders who do great thingsLegacyyou put leaders in place who keep doing great things without you
Before you goYour experiment starts on the date you just said out loud. The day-30 reassessment: the same 24 items, on [date], the form comes to the group. Counts as done: the reassessment plus a short written retro at the end of the run. No artifact means not done. And book your 60-minute 1:1 through the Zcal link if you have not, the window closes at day 30.
